SMART CONTRACTS AND OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY OF DEPOSIT MONEY BANKS.

Abstract
The study examined the relationship between smart contracts and operational efficiency of deposit money banks. The specific objectives of the study are to; examine the relationship between digital wallets and improved customer experience; and evaluate the relationship between automation of processes and compliance checks in deposit money banks. The study was based on the five (5) selected banks within Enugu metropolis with high number of staff and long years of establishment. The total population for the study was three hundred and thirty four (334). The study made use of the whole due to small number. A survey design was adopted for the study. Two hundred and fifty two (252) copies of questionnaire were properly completed and returned. Data was presented and analyzed by mean score and Z – test was used to test the hypotheses with Statistical Software (SPSS). The findings indicated that Digital wallets had significant positive relationship with improved customer experience, Z(10.646, P.<. 05) and Automation of processes had significant positive relationship with compliance checks in deposit money banks in Enugu State, Z(9.008, P.<. 05). The study concluded that Digital wallets and Automation of processes had significant positive relationship with improved customer experience and compliance checks in deposit money banks in Enugu State. The study recommended that the Deposit money banks should prioritize simplicity and ease of navigation in the design of their digital wallets. A clean, intuitive interface enhances user satisfaction, especially for less tech-savvy customers.
