Abstract

Entrepreneurship offers opportunities for marginalized populations to achieve sustainable livelihoods. In Kenya, where a significant portion of the population lives below the poverty line, female and youth entrepreneurship is recognized as a crucial driver of economic development. The Kenyan Government and other stakeholders have actively supported the development of female and youth entrepreneurs through various initiatives.

This paper highlights the significance of female entrepreneurship and its alignment with the Kenyan Micro and Small Enterprises Act (2012). It underscores the untapped potential of female and youth entrepreneurs and their role as key contributors to the Kenyan economy. The study delves into the various interventions and policies aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among these demographics.
